TINMAN VOLUNTEERS

The Tupper Lake Tinman wouldn’t be the great race it is without our amazing volunteers!

There are many opportunities to get involved and help make the Tinman a success. We’re now offering stipends for non-profit groups—groups of 8 or more can earn $200 for volunteering!

 Swim Volunteer

Swim volunteers will assist on the water on race day from approximately 7:00 AM – 10:00 AM. Volunteers should provide their own canoe, kayak, or stand-up paddleboard (SUP), along with appropriate paddles and life jackets.

We are also in need of a few volunteers with pontoon boats.

Our Swim Captain will contact you prior to race day to coordinate assignments and locations along the swim course.

 Bike Aid Station Volunteer

Bike Aid Station volunteers will assist at one of the five aid stations located between Tupper Lake and Cranberry Lake along Route 3. These aid stations will operate from approximately 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM.

Our Bike Captain will contact you prior to race day to coordinate assignments and locations along the course.

 Run Aid Station Volunteer

Run Aid Station volunteers will assist at one of the seven aid stations located throughout Tupper Lake along the run course. These aid stations will operate from approximately 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM on race day.

Our Run Captain will contact you prior to race day to coordinate assignments and locations along the course.

 Transition Volunteer

Transition volunteers will work in Municipal Park on race day. There are a variety of roles within the transition area, including swim/run aid station support, bike security, and road entrance control.

Volunteer shifts begin as early as 6:00 AM and continue until approximately 4:00 PM. The Transition Captain will contact you prior to race day to assign you to the appropriate area.

Finish Line Volunteer 

Finish Line volunteers will work at the finish line in Municipal Park on Demars Blvd. This station operates from approximately 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM.

Volunteers will assist at the aid station, hand out medals, and collect timing chips from athletes. The Finish Line Captain will reach out prior to race day to confirm assignments and details.

Friday Athlete Check-In Volunteer

Friday Check-In volunteers will assist on Friday, June 27, 2025, from 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Volunteers will help check athlete IDs and distribute race packets and t-shirts.

The Check-In Coordinator will reach out prior to the event to confirm assignments and details.

Saturday Morning Athlete Check-In Volunteer 

Saturday morning athlete check-in takes place on June 28, 2025, from 6:00 AM – 8:00 AM. Volunteers will assist with checking athlete IDs and distributing race packets and t-shirts.
